Hello there,

I built a pc a while back and never got around to OCing the CPU. My main concern is whether the OC will improve performance a lot (by a lot I mean 10+ fps) in triple "A" titles like Battlefront, Fallout, MGS V, Witcher 3...

PC Specs:
Athlon X4 860K 3.7ghz
8gb Ram
gigabyte GTX 960 2gb (+140 core OC)
MSI A68HM-E33 V2 motherboard
EVGA 500W PSU
1 TB WD
Corsair Hydro series H60 cooler

The question I would like answered is whether my 860K restricts my GTX 960 performance? If this so called bottleneck is high would an overclock from 3.7ghz to 4.4ghz improve in game performance across the board?

Any reply would be much appreciated, thank you

depends on the game, if the cpu is what is holding it back it will increase fps by a noticeable amount, if its a more gpu intensive game and the 960 is holding you up then it won't help any. all comes down to the game.
