man0005 :
hmm okay, I think I'd rather just go with the R9 270x or the next better graphics card beyond the 750 Ti so I can avoid the necessity of having to buy another graphics card so soon in the future.
Which card/brand would you guys recommend? I would still prefer a power efficient card.
If you want power efficiency, Nvidia cards tend to be superior in that regard. Here is a chart for psu reccomendations

They also tend to be better with heat and noise, which, while I'm still planning my first build, has made me favor Nvidia (TEAM GREEN
)
Edit: The following suggestions were made assuming you game at 1080p.[b[/b]
The gtx 750 ti is not a ultra settings card for many of the latest AAA games, though for many others it can perform well there. For ultra settings in the latest, most demanding games. you want a gtx 760 or better, or if you like AMD, a r9 270x or better. A gtx 750 ti is a fantastic card given what it is(the power efficiency is astounding), but it simply does not have enough juice to provide a high fps experience in the latest, most demanding games at ultra settings.
I prefer asus, but gigabyte, evga and zotac and also msi seem to be popular and reputable manufacturers.
As a break down for performance across Nvidia, a gtx 750 ti (R9 265 is AMD rough equivalent) can provide very smooth fps in all the latest games at medium settings or better, a gtx 760 (r9 270x-280x is AMD rough equivalent) can provide very smooth fps in all the latest games at high settings or better, a gtx 770 (R9 280x- R9 290 is the closest for AMD) can provide very smooth fps in all the latest games at ultra settings or better, and a gtx 780(the r9 290 and 290x are its competitors for AMD)[ in fact, it uses a different architecture than the gtx 760 and 770 , which both use gk104, whereas the 780 uses gk110, and gtx 750 ti uses the newest Maxwell architecture] is obviously better than a 770, and will give you some future room to run upcoming games at ultra/high settings for maybe 2 to 3 years from now, im guessing. For the record, I would be happy with any of the gtx series, as right now im using a laptop from 2006 than cant game for shit xD...even in Leage of legends at low settings it struggles hahaha. In case you're curious, here's what im going with for my build
