[SOLVED] Mother Board Compatibly

Hey guys I have a quick question I'm planning on upgrading to the new ryzen 5000 series and I'm not sure what mobo to pick out I saw a good deal on this mobo

and was wondering if I should get it and if it will work with the new 5000 series of CPUs.

B550 and X570 boards work with ryzen 5000 out of the box

While X470 and B450 will work with a special BIOS update that will arrive in January (as suggested my AMD)
Speculations say some motherboard vendors will allow it on B350 and X370 too, but I doubt it.

That motherboard is solid, but I'm partial to the lower cost and same feature-set of the B550 boards.

Seems this is not accurate as the CPU Support List for this board shows a BIOS update is required for the 5000 series Ryzen processors.

Sorry for the false information, I was under the assumption AMD said that all X570 boards will work with ryzen 5000, and the bios update is suggested as best practice and better stability.

I think that all X570 and B550 boards will at least POST with a Zen3 CPU. But to get all optimizations you should update to the latest BIOS...with AGESA v2 firmware installed (starting at 1.0.8.x or 1.1.0.x) at least.

Again, that article seems to state the opposite:

but armed with the latest BIOS update for your X570, B550, or A520 motherboard, you should be able to POST with a Zen 3 CPU.

That tells me that it's not going to run if the board comes with the base BIOS.
