[SOLVED] Mother Board Display Port vs GPU Display Port Output?

Does it make a difference in graphic quality which port is used. When I first started my new MB, I connected my display to the DP on the MB. After setting up the Bios as instructed for CSM and Legasy, I lost the output and then connected to the GPU output. Thanks

Yes, you need to connect your monitor to the GPU output.
Otherwise there is no point having a GPU installed.

The motherboard supports onboard graphics from the CPU.

It depends. IF that display port is your ONLY monitor then you want it connected to the graphics card. If it is a side monitor, then you might want to leave it on the motherboard and use the 1080 on your main monitor for max performance. It really depends on your specific configuration.

Quality? No. Speed? Yes - huge.

It's there for those that don't have GPU (for whatever reason).
