I am planning a rig right now with the 1060 3gb and upgrading to Volta when it comes out in a few years. Will the budget B150a motherboard support GPUs down the line?

That's actually what im contemplating now. I was thinking about going for the i5-6500, but another alternative would be to go with a z170 and 6600K + cooler. Unfortunately that is quite more expensive. If planning to change GPU would you do that route or nah?

I doubt that any future graphics card will not run on current pcie x16 equipment.
You are ok there.

B150 and a I3-6100 would be a very reasonable mid-range combo.
Better than a i5-6500, I think.
Here is a review; note that i3-6100 compares well with a more expensive i5-6600.

If you think you might want a I5-6600K in the future, I would buy the Z170 motherboard up front
to go with the i3-6100

Hi Geofelt, I plan to a build deep learning PC with i7, Asus X99-WS and 2units of 1080ti this month, then replace 1080ti with Volta cards (GTX-20xx?) in future.
What are the considerations to make sure my system is compatible with both Pascal and Volta cards? Thanks for your advice.
