Motherboard 2 way SLI x16

Hey guys

So I'm planning to go 2 way SLI with this MOBO : Z97x Gigabyte Gaming G1.
So x16 3.0 PCIexpress is 1st slot and 3rd slot.If I put 1 card in 1st slot and 1 card in 3rd slot will they both run at x16? or x16x8?and do you think if SLI 2way bridge is long enough for cards to connect between 1st and 3rd slot?

The configuration will be x8/x8 since the LGA 1150 CPUs support up to 16 PCI-E lanes. The SLI bridge should be long enough to connect the cards since the SLI layouts on universal motherboards always follow the same pattern.

They will run at 8x/8x on a z97 chipset.

If you want 16x/16x you will need an X99 motherboard and at least an i7-5930k (Well over $1000 total after memory and motherboard)

Is it worth it?
I mean is there a big difference if you run 2x 16x or 2x 8x?

You'll lose only a few fps with x8/x8, not much to make a big impact.
