Motherboard and 1060 6g issue

I have an ASRock 760GM-HDV Motherboard. I just bought a GTX 1060 6g and when I turn on my PC, I have a black screen. Do I need to update my BIOS?

I would first go into the BIOS and confirm your settings there are telling it to use your graphics card and not the onboard video.

I currently have a 1050 ti, can I do this with that plugged in? I'm new to this and bios. I've been googling possible issues for the past hours and someone mentioned my BIOS

When you remove the 1050ti and put the 1060 in you still have a black screen?

Yes. I had the 1050 ti in there previously and wanted to upgrade to the 1060 6g. So I put it in and connected everything properly. When I restart it, theres just a black screen

I updated my windows 10 and now it magically works perfectly lol. Thanks for taking the time to help me though

- Ensure six pin power cable plugged into the card also PSU have enough amperage
- In the BIOS disable Internal Graphics Mode
- Set memory / DRAM frequency to auto
- Set overclock mode to auto
- Ensure the GPU properly inserted into the slot which is required the use of a screw
- If steps above not working update BIOS is the only feasible way
