I have a 1 and a half year old Z170-a Asus motherboard and overnight it spontaneously stopped working. At first, only one out of my six chassis fans, the CPU fan, the HDD and SSD, the graphics card, and the PWR_LED and XLED lights would power on. After removing the cmos battery, suddenly all of the chassis fans would work, but still no difference in POST or any error beeps.

I tried with one stick of ram, no ram, no graphics card, no boot device, and reseating any if those connections. I don't have another pc or motherboard to rest individual components with.

Here are the rest of my specs:

CPU: Intel i7-6700 3.4 GHz
PSU: Corsair CX750M
SSD: Samsung EVO 840
RAM: GEIL EVO Potenza 2X8GB 3000 MHz
GPU: Asus GTX 1060 6GB

If I missed anything, please let me know. I'm on mobile so it's hard to type, but I'll try to respond as fast as possible.

Solution
Sounds like motherboard went out, possibly the CPU as well.

From my experience, it's most likely the motherboard. Honestly not much you can do until you can actually test your components out though.

I wouldn't call Intel until the replacement mobo comes in and you're able to test.

Sounds reasonable. I'm just so confused about how this happened. It's been working perfectly fine for the past year and a half, then it literally broke overnight. Not even 9 hours before this I was playing Warframe.
