Hey guys, first post here. Great site.
I'm just checking in, as a first time computer builder, because I'm having issues over motherboard selection.
First, here's everything i've chosen.
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH
Antec 900 Case (On the way)
300GB Western Digital HDD (Reusing current one)
POWERCOLOR PCS+ AX5770 1GBD5-PPG Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card
i5 750 Lynnfield
Windows 7 64 bit OEM
OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Sound is a HUGE issue for me. I've checked all my components, they're rated as quiet. The Antec 900 is "quiet" as well with big fans and adjustable speeds.
Now, on to Motherboard(s). Until today, I was totally sure I was going to buy the P7P55D Asus mobo, specifically this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131404
However, I read in a review that it is obsolete? The mobo I was reccomended to was this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131621, the P7P55D - E PRO.
Is i worth the extra 50? My budget is pretty spent at 800 already. My main purpose is gaming, but nothing too serious like Crysis. I'll be playing things like Heroes of Newerth, Grid, Dirt 2, Just Cause 2 and what not.
Any help is much appreciated.
