Motherboard and CPU Issue

I have a Pre built system which I started upgrading back in February of this year recently I upgraded the CPU and now one of the DIMM slots won't work.

Before the Upgrade the DIMM slot worked perfectly. Now it doesn't work I went back and checked everything like if there was debris in the RAM slot if the motherboard pins were broken if the RAM was broken but all of these where ruled out and they weren't the problem.

Could it be the memory controller on the CPU that's messed up. I brought the CPU which is an I7 for £107.50 with 12 months warranty.

Nope because I sold it but it started happening after I put the new CPU in.

You checked the pins, but did you check the contacts on the cpu?

Nope should I check the CPU should I clean it.

If there's nothing on it, then it is clean. If I remember your other threads correctly, then there's not much you can do to see if it is the cpu or something got damaged when you replaced the cpu.

So there is no solution for the CPU and motherboard then???

There's always a solution, you just can't test to find out what it really is. You can try to send back the cpu since it has a warranty, they'll test it.

Yeah I ended up sending it back got a refund and ordered another one it turned out to be the memory controller on the CPU that was malfunctioning.
