Resently cleaned out my entire pc, re-applied thermal pasta cleaned every inch of my pc.
It was running great for 1 week CPU 20 degrees idle and my motherboard 30Degrees Idle.
Today i was playing a game and my pc crashed without any reason ( i think it was overheating) only restarted after leaving it for 30 min without power.
after my pc finally worked again imidiatly checked temps and my cpu was 45 degrees idle!! and motherboard 50 degrees.
Now 5 hours later my Idle temperature is CPu : 50/65 Motherboard : 65.
could my motherboard and Cpu be damaged from being overheated?
if the answer is no what can i trouble shoot to try and find the problem.
( Pc has no history at all of overheating . It started today and its increasing rapidly.)

CPU: Amd fx6300 with stock cooler.
motherboard: msi 970A-G43
GPU: r9 270.

Note : Iknow some of these parts have a history of overheating. But since it hasnt been a problem at all why should the problem come up all of a sudden.

Any help is appriciated !

I never liked the stock cooler that came with my FX-6300, it did what you just described. It was fantastic at first and all of a sudden I get warning flash across the screen that my CPU is at 90 degrees celsius and rising! The stock cooler that comes with the FX-6300 is cheap, there are no two ways around saying that...I ended up throwing it away and putting on a water cooled system and now my FX-6300 runs perfectly quiet and keeps around 30-40 degrees celsius.

Keep in mind, your CPU is attached to the motherboard, so if your CPU heats up to 90 degrees celsius, you can also cause damage to your motherboard. I think the industry standard is for the boards to be rated for 105 celsius but I have seen boards melt at 80 before :\ !

Agreed stock coolers are shit :S .
Once coming in the mail today but my temperatures are weird.
18C On the cpu fully idle with nothing open.
As soon as i open up google chrome it jumps up to 40C and drops back down.
But whenever i watch youtube/twitch I get an instant 55/60C on the CPU and 65 On the Motherboard.
I hope the new cooler fixes it , Also ordered a new Motherboard with it to see and test it out.
if the new motherboard fixes all problems ill just keep it and otherwise return it.
Thanks for the help btw!!

You may have made a mistake when you replaced the tim. Try re-applying the thermal paste again and make sure you don't squeeze all the paste to one side when you re-seat the cooler, I've done that before and saw temp spikes because of it. Also be sure to check that you have all the fan headers plugged in. And I'd really recommend getting an aftermarket cooler. A 25 dollar hyper 212 evo is worlds better then stock amd coolers. Well worth the money.

Also, any overclocks?

Hang on, are temps resting at 55c with video playback, or do they just jump up all of a sudden and fall back down?

A new motherboard will not solve cooling problems. In this case, it is your CPU Cooler causing your heat problems. I guarantee if you replace that stock cooler with another air cooler or even a liquid cooler, you will see a dramatic difference!
