Motherboard and CPU upgrade

I'm planning on upgrading as stated in the title.

I currently have:
Motherboard- ASUS M5A99X evo
CPU- AMD Phenom II x6 1100T
GPU- Sapphire Radeon 270x 4GB OC
16GB Ram

What are good choices? My budget is around 400 dollars. I play a lot of heavy Games such as The Witcher 3 and Skyrim.

Well you could get a i5-4690k and an expensive motherboard or an i7-4790k and a budget motherboard... I would get the i7 though
