Motherboard and cpu upgrade

I play pc games and im very certain my graphics card is bottle necking, my curent motherboard is a msi indigo and my cpu is a i7 860, i want to upgrade but i want to spend maybe 250 at most, what do you guys suggest, my gc is a gtx 770 sc edtion also i have another one laying aroumd but i cant run sli due 2 bun cheeks motherboard and what not lol.

at only a $250 budget, I'd stick with that i7. it may not be as good as some of the modern CPUs now, but it should still do you fine even with a 1070. even if you insists on a CPU + mobo upgrade, about the only option is waiting for the Ryzen 5 & a $80-90 mobo if there's any. intel's choice will cost you a fair bit if you're looking for a big boost.

pray tell, what games do you usually run / want to run?

I run bf4 csgo and alot of other games on medium to max setting, and i now changed my budget, im willing to spend about 350 to 400 on a new mobo and cpu, and i want to run h1z1 rust and bf1. All thats holding me back is my cpu lol
