My girlfriend bought some parts for a pc build and as I was putting it together the right bottom screw hole made the stand off come loose as I was putting the screw in. While attempting to remove it i scuffed up the edge pretty bad. It shows a white film.

I went to install the heatsink, on her cpu. A ryzen 5.
It was a pain to install and i noticed that the paste wasnt spread properly even after only using a bead.

I took off the heatsink and noticed a crack in the copper plate which I think scuffed up the hsf. The crack was very thin like a piece of hair.

Would the heat sink still be safe to use with the hairline crack?
And is the mobo okay?
I have yet to boot up the pc as she forgot to buy the ram I asked her to buy.

Solution
Some pics would be nice....but as far as a hairline crack in the copper plate...I don't see that as an issue. The motherboard....maybe...as I said...pics.
