Hey TH, I am upgrading my rig and just noticed I may have selected the wrong memory when I first built my machine back in 2011. I have PC3-15000 (1866) memory installed and it doesn't appear my motherboard supports 1866, only 1600 and 2133. I have been running it fine for 4 years though which is the weird thing, other than not being able to get my 2600k to go over 4.1ghz stable. Should I go ahead and just get another 8gb(2x4gb) of the 1866 or should I take the opportunity to get the right frequency (1600/2133)? Thanks!

Processor - Intel I7 2600k Quad Core 3.4 GHZ (4.0 Stable OC)
Motherboard - MSI P67A-GD55
RAM - 2x Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1866 (8GB Total)

Solution
You're fine, if it supports 2133 (and it does, you can run 1866 just fine, and your CPU is plenty strong enough, I was running 2133 DRAM with my 2500K 😉
