I'm about to get G.SKILL Trident Z Royal F4-3200C16D-16GTRS but would upgrade the motherboard later and get ASRock B360 Pro4 first which has the 2666MHz memory speed limit. Will it ruin the RAM? It's not in the memory QVL though. If it runs safely at 2666MHz, how about the timing would it be?

If it's unsafe, should I get cheap Z390 like ASRock Z390 Pro4? But still, it would be a temporary motherboard and I'll upgrade it later.

the timings would be what ever the xmp is set to for 2666... problem not all ram has a wide selection of xmp profiles.
but yes the motherboard would limit the ram to 2666 rather than running at 3200...
so in this case save some money and buy 2666 ram or spend the same money and buy 2666 ram with tighter cas/ras timings.

Is that even worth? Because I am planning to build a Z390 + 3200MHz RAM, and that B360 would be my temporary motherboard. I want to upgrade that sooner.

Great, I'll pick 3200MHz then and one question: If I have F4-3200C16D-16GTZR 2x8GB and want to add another 2x8GB should I sell those and get the new F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR 4x8GB or just add the same model? I mean is there any difference to that Dual and Quad symbol on those serial number I wonder.

So is adding the exact 2x4GB kit counts as different kits?

Reasons I need 32GB are for rendering, more multitasking and of course for aesthetics as you know there's no 16GB with full 4 modules kit.

Obviously.
Modules in kit are tested and guarantied to work together. Different kits are not tested together.
Most likely it will still work, but may require minor tweaking of ram parameters in BIOS.

That really makes sense and safer. Thanks man!
