Hello guys, i had some problems with my PC recently. I was playing a game one day and it just shut down. I could hear the pc working, but my monitor was black and light on it was just blinking.
Since it is in warranty for another 4 years (i bought it about a year ago) i sent it back to the place i bought it from, and they said my motherboard and PSU was fried and my warranty doesn't cover that and i need to buy new components. They say it must have been power problem in my apartment or something. What should i do? Is there any way they are trying to scam me? I've never had problem with any other computers since i moved here, the building itself is about 4 years old, and there wasn't any bad weather recently (lightning strike etc.)

"they said my motherboard and PSU was fried and my warranty doesn't cover that and i need to buy new components. They say it must have been power problem in my apartment or something."
--> "that and i need to buy new components. "

--> This does sound suspicious.

However, this may or may not be true. No way to know here.

If possible, take pc to friend that knows about building pc's and get him/her to check over (if possible) reported 'faulty' components.

Sometimes I wish I owned one of these 'pc repair' places!
