Hey guys,

Recently one of my ram slots died :(and well I thought of changing the motherboard in the first place but then decided to get more ram instead cause windows 10 free upgrade stuck with my mobo

I have an intel DH61ww motherboard with one ram slot dead will it support a single G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) PC (F3-12800CL10S-8GBXL) or (Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) PC DRAM (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) RAM ?
As in does the DH61ww mobo support (2*8) 16 GB RAM ? :??:

I currently have Transcend 2*4 GB Ram out of which i cant use one 4GB stick cause the ram slot died.I need the 8GB ram just for normal gaming

My current Rig is as follows

- NZXT phantom 410 case
- Asus OC Nvdia 760 2GB Card
- Intel DH61ww motherboard
- Intel i5 2500 running 3.4 Ghz
- Seasonic 600W SMPS
- Windows 10
- Xigmatek Dark Knight

So I should instead buy a new mobo ?
But doing so won't I lose my win 10 free upgrade ?
I updated from Win 8 OEM
