What is your motherboard model and what is the memory model?

Sounds like you have bought the wrong DRAM for your motherboard or you need to flip the DRAM module end to end.

DDR2 DRAM will not fit a DDR3 socket and DDR3 DRAM will not fit a DDR4 socket.
