Motherboard and RAM

Ok guys I did choose Gigabyte B85 D3H and it says that it has four memory slots.
If I buy 2X4GB it makes a total of 8GB. If I buy a 2X2GB kit it makes a 4GB.
My question is If i need really a 4GB , can i go for a single 4GB stick from corsair, will the motherboard support a single stick of 4GB?

It will work as a single-channel, but if add an extra later it needs to be in the same channel so it makes a dual channel

Best is to get the same RAMs. Like 4x2GB or 4x3GB (And let 1 empty) or 4x4GB. Its your choice.

Best is to get paired RAMs. And AT THE SAME CLOCK.

Yes, it will run on a single 4GB stick, you may place it in any slot you wish, it will run as single channel with very little performance difference over duel channel.
