Motherboard [Anti Static Mat]

Can I put the motherboard on top of a normal steelseries qck+ Mousepad while putting the ram before mounting it to the case I have a esd wrist strap but not a mat to place the motherboard

I typically put the motherboard on the static bag that it comes with, with it laying on top of the motherboard box that it came with.
