Question Motherboard beep code not resolving.

Hi,
I got 8 short beeps just a short while ago when I tried starting my computer. I switched the graphics card to a new one and it did the same thing. Then I tried to boot the system without a GPU and it still beeped 8 times. Any ideas?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

Go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and look for the applicable motherboard User Guide/Manual.

There may be some explanation of what the 8 beeps are indicating. Listen carefully because the beeps may be a pattern of long and short beeps.

Be careful if you do some generic google search.

For example: "What do 8 beeps mean for a [ insert make and model] motherboard?

Any number of sites may appear and just because they have the motherboard's manufacturer's name in the URL does not mean that the website is the manufacturer.

I managed to resolve the issue simply by removing an old usb 1.0 card and resetting the CMOS.
