Hi everyone...

Im stressing a bit because i just bought some new gear and put it together... i got a core2duo socket 775 processor and put it on an asus motherboard... the cpu went in fine but the heatsink that came with was a bit hard to get to clcik in... i also put it on after i had put the motherboard on the case/chassis (anyone gotta time machine!)...

so after putting the heatsink on i have noticed there is a bit of a bend/dip in the motherboard between the 2 screws that secure the MB either side of the cpu... i would say it probably drops about 3-5mm (im at work so just going by what i can picture in my head)... but its notcieable if you look at it from the side...

i havent turned anything on yet cos i am still waiting for my monitor to come in...

do you think it will be okay? if it turns on and works then does that mean it is fine and that wont have done anything that could effect performance or break down in the future? if there was a problem could it damage other components (RAM, etc.)?

cheers!
