Question Motherboard bend.

Hey everyone

It's the first time i build a PC myself, I'm an electrician so i'm kinda used to using tools. I was wondering if it's normal that my Motherboard has a slight bend inward in the middle it's a high end Taichi 870E

The view is from the top of the pc.

I alligned the middle pin ( the one with no screw) first, then alligned all the other put screws at their right place a little loose and slightly tighten them in stars, i didn't over tight anything as i was afraid, as soon as i felt a little pressure, i didn't even do a quarter of a turn.

It's kinda freaking me out, i didnt feel any bad pressure, everything went super smooth i checked in the back if anything was in the way.

The PC isn't done so i can still remove the whole thing but little tired, will wait for responses before doing so. Case is a North XL if that changed anything.

Not uncommon in some of the lesser PCB thickness boards. If everything lines up properly you should be able to tighten down with proper fasteners without concern.

But this is a taichu 870e, it's a high end AM5 board.

to be fair someone made me noticed the top right screw had space in between the 2 side threads, i tightbthat up, it's a little better but the side where there's most space between the 2 screws ( it also has alot more component, it's still slighly bent.

It is a really large board if that is the extended version, a whole lot of board.

IMO, if it works right, and are you going to actually see it when the hardware is installed, what problem does it present otherwise?

Admittedly I have not taken my Z series motherboard and laid it anywhere outside the top of a box and into the case. Even at that I really didn't pay that close attention. I absolutely HAVE noted lower end boards being about like a playing card that was in my back pocket for a while. With that said, these do cost a darned lot of money to have that flaw, so I understand to some degree the feeling. Hope it works out well.

Yes it is indeed a extended ATX Motherboard.

i don't know if it works because the build isn't done yet. i've read online and seen that at some extend with the soldering and component there can be a little bit of bend on the pcb of the board, it's a little better after the screw i fixed but i didn't think i would have bend at all. seen people have some crazy bend on forums and people said it was fine :S.

was just looking for people with experience in the matter.

It's always the fault with the case or possibly standoffs. Metal back plates holding MB are much stiffer than plastic motherboard and would pull or push it if not totally straight and even. That's not much of a bend, I have seen much worse but you could ad a paper or plastic washer under MB at those lower standoffs.

I have removed the whole thing and bent is the same it seems to be cause by the BIG heavy duty back plat from the motherboard itself and it's where there's alot of compotent and seems to be a coil in that area, not too worried anymore, will still send the picture of the bent uninstalled to asrock just to back me off and let them know in case anything is fault wich i realy doubt at this point.
