Motherboard boot problems

Hello. I have an Asus ROG Strix z370 H mobo. however, when I tried to boot for the first time ( and many attempts after that) I got no response. When I did try to boot, the only sign of life was from one single led on the mobo indicating that the power was being received. There should be other led indicators but they have stayed silent. I have check and double check connetions and honestly don't know what to do at this piont. here are some of the specs

Z370 H mobo
i7 8700k processor
Corsair vengance LPX 2X8
Samsung 860 evo 1tb
Phanteks eclipse case

Is this a new board? If so ate you sure the stand off screws are in the right place and no extra ones as this will short the board and give the result you have

Only the reqired stand offs are in place. I have also done a benck/external test with the same outcome

all of the parts are brand new so the thought that something is broken is very unlikely to me
