I'm going to use the i7-4790K with 16GB RAM with and SSD + HDD.
Wondering what mobo I should use?

2 suggestions:
Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H
MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition
MSI Z97 Guard Pro

For now you really don't need to overclock that i7, and it will remain like this for many years.

Depending on the monitor you have, the GTX 980 TI might be an overkill, but if you like to play games at max settings and have an monitor with 1440p or more, or with 120hz refresh rate or more the 980 Ti will be a good option for you.

You should change PSU because the one you select have low quality.

I also changed the board, I think Asus have better quality than MSI, and its cheaper.

Also made other changes to keed the price inside your budget, but this changes will not affect performance

Any good ones from PC Case Gear (that's where I'll probably get my parts from)

I think you should not buy GPU, motherboard, SSD at that shop, they have few options and/or high price. Not sure about the case, but the one I suggest is not available there.

Make a complete build at partpicker so I can see what parts you want to buy, for example, do you need OS, keyboard, monitor, etc?

Do you want to overclock?
