Question motherboard compatability question: Z87 classified with rtx 2080

hey all, Ive had a setup working well for several years using a haswell 4770k evga z87 classified and an 780ti. but recently got an upgrade RTX 2080, but have been having d7 error codes and powering off whenever i put a bit of load on it through games. I just plugged the 780 ti back in and no problems or d7 code exist. which makes me think that the rtx 2080 that I got is incompatible with the Z87 classified, has anyone heard of this? I thought since the primary PCIE on the board is 3.0 that I would have no problems with upgrading to a rtx 2080

Make sure all your cables are completely seated , 8 pin CPU double check it.

Power supply? And did you ever wipe old drivers with ddu and reinstall?

yep this was the first thing I check everything is completely seated.

I am using a Rosewill 1000w 80 plus bronze psu. But I have not wiped the old drivers but not sure that would work Im getting errors from bios before the os handover on most startups, I think the main problem is there.

Update the BIOS on the motherboard it's rare but can help with newer gpus as well

That may have done the trick I just updated to the latest version on evga website v1.11 and put the 2080 back in and no bios errors on startup will have to test to see if i get any turnoffs when playing games.

Go ahead and wipe the drivers and reinstall as well
