Hi, I recently purchased a Corsair CX 600 Power supply. It says it runs with "All ATX-compatible motherboards, including Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, and E-ATX". My MOBO is the H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX (Cupertino2) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=uk&lc=en&docname=c02978278

My PC is HP Pavilion p6-2022uk Desktop PC http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay?javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.prp_ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c03013679-20%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.tpst=ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01&ac.admitted=1414869498532.876444892.492883150

As this PC only has a 300 watt PSU, and onboard GFX - it was inevitable I would need to upgrade. My old PSU had a 24 pin connector, and a 4 pin which both went into the MOBO. The new corsair PSU only has a 20 pin, and a 4 pin. I tried using the 20 pin in the 24 slot, and the 4 ppin in the 4 slot - and when I turn the power on the fan turns for a second and then nothing. If i clip the 4 pin and the 20 pin together and insert these into the 24 pin - the PSU turns on, but I don't think the mobo/pc works as the fans arn't turning and with only the monitor plugged in, no image appears.

Sorry if i havn't explained things thoroughly, I wouldn't consider myself a computer expert and am quite annoyed at myself for thinking the installation would be easy. (PS the reason I am upgrading is because I have a GTX 750 to install which needed atleast 400 watts). Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.
Here is my motherboard before I insert the wires: http://imgur.com/uATyvdF.jpg

This is when I have inserted the 20 pin and 4 pin: http://i.imgur.com/10msyD6.jpg

Here is a different angle to show the 20 pin in the 24 slot (it wasn't a tight fit, it felt naturl to insert): http://i.imgur.com/pXRW7zw.jpg

It might be worth mentioning prior to this I have never even opened this computer case, all of the parts are the same from when I bought it. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello, thanks for your time and patience. I now have the PSU working and the pc runs fine with on-board GFX. However now I am trying to install my Geforce GTX 750 and am running into issues. I insert the card and try to boot it up, and I get stuck on HP screen - have 3 single beeps then it puts me onto a black screen with a flashing underscore.
I have done the following things: Reset the bios battery thing on the motherboard and put it back in, downloaded the latest bios for my motherboard, and checked mutliple times all over the card as to whether there is an additional slot to insert the PCI power lead - there is not. I also tried to check in BIOS settings whether there was an option to disable on-board gfx but I couldn't see any - and I'm pretty certain I read in another forum or possibly this one, that the onboard GFX is automatically disabled when you boot up with a proper card in it. Sorry if i do not explain myself very well.

Thanks for your response, I only have one stick of ram - and I have replaced it three times to see if this was the problem. My monitor is plugged into the gfx card fine - I can see the HP boot up screen but then the black screen comes. I am using my computer absolutely fine right now - with the onboard gfx, but it's when I insert the card the problems arise :/

Sorry if i'm coming across like a computer newbie, I kind of am :)
Loaded bios settings and just could not find anything relating to the primary display device.
On bios bootup could go into Diagnostics, boot something, computer setup, system recovery, network boot, utilities or run UEFI application.
Went into comp setup and checked through everything, could not find anythign to do with the primary display driver. Only things I could find that seemed remotely linked where in the BUS options whereby it said PCI SERR#Generation - enabled, and PCI VGA Palette Snooping - disabled.

Sorry if there is a lack of information here, I'm trying to be as detailed as I can.
Thank you in advance.
