Motherboard compatibility asus p8z68 with i74790k

Hi folks just wondering if my asus p8z68 motherboard with work well with an i7 4790k or will I have to upgrade it? I heard the number of sockets is different with the board having LGA1155 and the i7 having LGA1150 and that causes problems?

Hi, Yes, Since different LGA, then the CPU is not supported.

Best i7 you can get is the 3770k. BUT you need to make sure to update the bios to the newest version first.

That i7 4790k is not supported.
