motherboard compatibility determination

You will probably have to purchase a copy of Windows with a new motherboard. The Windows 7 that came with it won't work with an aftermarket motherboard.

It is hard to say for certain that the MSI motherboard will work. My first guess is no. Here is why. The original motherboard was a microATX form factor, the new one is full ATX. The original motherboard had a 4 pin supplemental power (plug near the I/O panel) the new one has an 8 pin supplemental power plug. I bet the power supply doesn't have an 8 pin supplemental power plug.
