Hi guys,

I'm handing off my old rig to someone that doesn't have the requirements of a modern gaming rig, however, it turns out the motherboard is fried (MSI 970A-G45).

Could someone please help to identify a compatible new (old) motherboard for the following items:

Case:
HAF Cooler Master

Processor:
AMD 8320

RAM:
Patriot Viper 2x4GB PC3-12800, 1600MHZ

Ideally it would have wifi built in.. would the one I'm linking below compatible with the items above?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro-ATX LGA AM4 DD4 Motherboard for AMD Ryzen 3000/5000 Series CPUs

Any DDR3/4 issues here?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, a further question:

After viewing the cost of a used MOBO for such an old model, it's almost the same price as upgrading a few items. Do you know if these items are compatible with each other and my HAF case for fit? I would use PC part picker and not bother you folks, but it looks like some items are archived or too old.

Let me know, because it looks like I may be SOL for getting such an old used mobo at a reasonable price...

No, that MB is for Ryzen 1st to 5th generations. with socket AM4 and DDR4 only.
MBs for FX processors are out of production so you have to look for a NOS or second hand. Must have AM3+ socket and preferably FX 990 chipset as 970 has sketchy support.

Yes, those are compatible with each other and small MB should fit in all mid ATX cases.
Expect at least 5+ times better performance.
