motherboard compatibility question

I have an Asus Sabertooth 990fx r2.0, and i was wondering if the board could work with just one stick of ram and if so, which Slot would it go in?

That's not the best option but yes it would work and in any slot.

Yes and preferred would be slots 1 or 2 closest to CPU which is Channel A
