Motherboard compatibility question

Would the MSI Z87-G43 GAMING motherboard and the MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4 GB GDDR5 GPU work together? I have the motherboard and currently use the GTX 760 but i thought it was about time for an upgrade

Pci express 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0 and that motherboard is pci express 3.0 so u have no prob
