Hi guys im buying a new cpu probably today or tomorrow im wondering if the new cpu will fit in my new motherboard i have a motherboard striped from the aceraspire3990 from my old pc its a 1150 socket and the new cpu is i5 4690k will this be able to work with my pc or no?

Solution
Although the CPU will physically fit a LGA 1150 socket, the BIOS version of your system may not run it for two reasons.

1. The computer and motherboard predates the Haswell-refresh release, so there may be no support for any Haswell-refresh CPU.
2. Prebuilt computers often have significant restrictions on the upgrages they will support.

Are you sure you have a LGA 1150 socket? I was under the impression that system was LGA 1155. (i3 2120)

If you are replacing and i3 with an i5, there may be heat and power issues too. The new CPU has a higher TDP and if you plan to overclock, a lot higher, and will generate a lot more heat.

You are starting down a difficult road.

I believe that the x3990 motherboard is not a standard size, neither mATX nor ATX and I'm not sure if the case connections are standard either. Also, what case so you have? Is it low-profile, or 'standard' sized. (That will limit CPU cooler and GPU choice if low profile) Your OS is keyed to your existing motherboard and is very likely an OEM non-transferrable license, so you will need a new OS.

It might be easier just to upgrade to a locked 3rg generation i5 or i7.
