i just bought a EVGA 131-GT-E767-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 SLI 3 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
i was wondering is a ATI GPU still compatible with this board since i have SAPPHIRE 100314-3L Radeon HD 6870 from a older computer i had or do i have to buy a new nvidia GPU?

Solution
amd/ati is compatible with an intel cpu board, and vice versa.

You can use an amd gpu with intel cpu, you can use an nvidia gpu with an amd cpu.

The board does not care, if it could care.
cpu compatability is more of an issue with that board than gpu. I assume you know that you are limited to 1366 socket cpu.

so an 1155 socket cpu would not work, for example the i5-2500k. Also intel is phasing the 1366 socket out, so there will be no upgrade path in the future.

Just want to make sure that you got this as well.

when it says 2/3 way sli bridge included, it simply means that the mobo has the bridge which allows you to cross/tri-fire a gpu (from amd) and sli a gpu from nvidia.

Pretty much gives you the option to run multiple gpus in you system.

oo ok thank you for the additional info that is good to know and yes i have a intel i7 core 920 its lga 1366 there was only a few mobos on new egg in that price range with that socket so i got that one because i have used EVGA products before and love there customer service
