motherboard compatible with the case?

I actually want to know how you generally find out if the motherboard fits in the case.

All I know about my current case, is that it's a Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO H
 
If the case is small and only supports microATX, then you can only get a microATX board.

If it's a mid-tower and above, it should support ATX, microATX (if they put in the holes).

Some even larger cases support extended ATX.
 
Quck and dirty rule: If the case has 4 card slots at the back, its micro-atx, if it has 7 slots or more, its ATX or extended ATX. There are other formats, but not as commonly used.
 
you can see that each motherboard has a specification called form factor
most of them are ATX or Micro ATX ... ect
you should buy a case which has compatibility with your motherboard form factor
 
MY motherboard is a GA-8I945PE. What does that mean?

And when I look at a list of motherboards is says "sockel 'number'". I have no idea what the numbers are, and what to choose.

Hey i have the msi z390 motherboard wich is an e-atx motherboard and I'm wondering if it will fit in the lian li razer edition case wich is an atx case
