I have a gigabyte m/b with a Apollo Pro 693 chipset. The problem is, after noticing some irreguralities, is that the entire systems FSB is messed up. I have a Coppermine PIII Celeron 600 chip and nVidia AGP 32Mg card. After noticing stuff I decided to use the highly recommended :) Sisoft Sandra utility. On the chip as well as the AGP slot..the system bus speed is 120MHz, the m/b is a socket 370 and the chip is a FCPGA.. Now, a 466 Celeron also on a gigabyte m/b using a "slocket" runs better. What I need to know is how can I overcome this problem, cos the chip seems locked @ 5X as well as the bus speed @ 120MHz..doesn't matter if i fiddle with the boards dipswitches.. I know it's supposed to b @ 66MHz with 9X to give me the 600MHz, but the chip is running incorrect as well as the ENTIRE m/b system bus, cos it is to high on the AGP, PCI as well as the ISA slots. How can I overcome this please, cos here in south africa things don't come cheap :) and this is most depressing. Any info would br greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE sisoft sandra,
Dont believe it, It lies often and badly.
it tells me my pci is running at 48mhz *chuckle*
and it is 133/4 which is 33mhz. it also tells me my chip is running at 4 X 202mhz and it is really 8X100

They really need to update there software. there is other software that will iden the bus and speed but i cant seem to recall its name. Norton has a sysinfo util that is about equally bad to the sisoft one.

Dont get me wrong i like the sisoft benchmarks and utility
very informative but it can lie about stuff like bus speeds etc.

Thanks for that...the reason i decided to check is because I noticed that files like .asf and .avi(divx) files were running worse, in that i mean framing, than a 466 Celeron "slocket" with a 4Mg AGP card.. and games such as F1 2000 and even the OLD NFS 3 weren't running properly..that is why I thought that the problem was true, I have already bought a newer board *arrgghh*... Is there ne other software that can tell me the truth..cos it is very depressing to have a 32Mg AGP card on a "supposedly" faster system being outrun by a 4Mg AGP card on a slower system :)) Thanks for the reply
