I have a gigabyte m/b with a Apollo Pro 693 chipset. The problem is, after noticing some irreguralities, is that the entire systems FSB is messed up. I have a Coppermine PIII Celeron 600 chip and nVidia AGP 32Mg card. After noticing stuff I decided to use the highly recommended
Sisoft Sandra utility. On the chip as well as the AGP slot..the system bus speed is 120MHz, the m/b is a socket 370 and the chip is a FCPGA.. Now, a 466 Celeron also on a gigabyte m/b using a "slocket" runs better. What I need to know is how can I overcome this problem, cos the chip seems locked @ 5X as well as the bus speed @ 120MHz..doesn't matter if i fiddle with the boards dipswitches.. I know it's supposed to b @ 66MHz with 9X to give me the 600MHz, but the chip is running incorrect as well as the ENTIRE m/b system bus, cos it is to high on the AGP, PCI as well as the ISA slots. How can I overcome this please, cos here in south africa things don't come cheap
and this is most depressing. Any info would br greatly appreciated. Thanks.
