[SOLVED] Motherboard Continuous Beeping Under Load

Hey guys, I recently started playing Black Desert Online and I run into an issue where sometimes my computer starts beeping. The only way to stop the beeping is if I close or minimize the game, which stops the beeping immediately. The few other games I play don't have this issue. My CPU and GPU temps are fine, around 55C and 65C respectively.

What could be triggering the beeps? From looking around on forums, it seems like it would be either PSU or RAM. Where do I go from here?

Specs:
5600x
16GB (2x8) Corsair Vengeance
MSI B550 Tomahawk
Super Flower Leadex III 750W 80+ Gold
Gigabyte Aorus 3080

Windows Build Version 19042.928

Visit the Corsair memory finder, and compare the memory kit model you have against what is shown to be compatible with the B550 Tomahawk. Not all memory kits, and in fact, a lot of them, don't work with all boards even if the "memory type" and "speed" would seem to be supported.

From model to model there are vast differences. If the memory doesn't show as compatible, then it could still work, but is usually problematic. Corsair Vengeance kits are known to have problems on a lot of Ryzen motherboards.
First thing I'd do is make sure you have the MOST up to date motherboard BIOS version.

The next thing I'd do is make sure that if you have four DIMM slots, that your memory modules are installed in the 2nd and 4th slots, if you have two modules. Removing and reinstalling them can't hurt either, just to make sure they are fully seated. It's doubtful that it's a "hard" hardware fault since only the one game causes it though.

Might check to see if there are any known issues with your version of that game, and whether there are any patches available that might address the issue.

Knowing your full hardware specs would certainly be helpful, including Windows build version and exact model numbers of all your primary hardware components.

Thanks for replying! I updated the post with specs and windows build version.

The two sticks of ram are in the 2nd and 4th slots, but I'll try reseating them and updating the BIOS for now.

First thing I suggest is to find out where the bleeping is coming from, I assume it is the motherboard, but best to be sure before moving on (I had some surprising beeping once), turns out that I had overloaded my uninteruptable power supply (UPS) and that was bleeping not the PC.!

Well, that unlikely possibility aside, I think we can probably assume the beeping IS coming from the system speaker. If it's not, then obviously somebody didn't do any ground work to begin with in determining their best course of action based on evidence. Evidence being, that it was coming from elsewhere.

It is most likely coming from the system speaker, but the motherboard in question has a header but no built in speaker so the OP would have to have found one and plugged it in because one doesnt come with in the box with the motherboard either. I know because I am using the same motherboard and many cases do not come with speakers.

Just throwing things out there for the OP to consider. Some graphics cards beep or just sound continuosly if the power is not plugged in.!

Almost no aftermarket boards come with system speakers onboard. You always have to attach one, unless you have a Q-code display and don't require a speaker. I agree that there isn't always a system speaker attached, but you'd like to think that if the person in question is telling us the motherboard is beeping that they'd know whether or not a speaker was attached. Yes, I'm sure there are exceptions to that bit of logic.
