Motherboard CPU power header question

Please help!! I have a gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H which happens to be version 1. It has a 4-pin cpu power header. Now, my psu which is Seasonic X 650w has a 8-pin cpu power connector... is it safe to plug the 8-pin power connector from the psu to the 4-pin cpu power header of my motherboard? Plese Help!!!

There should be one of the cpu power connectors that can be split into 2 4-pin connectors (there's also one that isn't splittable). Use the one that splits, and bend the extra 4-pin connector out of the way.
