Hi guys,

A bit of an issue after installing a new CPU cooler, I am not able to boot the PC. Please have a look at the video to see what the issue is. I am having a white LED that lasts but it cycles through other LEDs too. I never noticed these LEDs go on before and I feel like I may have damaged something (motherboard?). I hope it is the motherboard because it is under warranty and can be replaced but I want to make sure what it is because I don't want to get a new one only to find out that the CPU is fried.

Asus B360F motherboard diagnostics LED on
Motherboard: Asus B360f Gaming
CPU: Intel i5 8400
Ram: Old Vengeance LPX 2400 mhz + and new one inserted with the cooler with same specs

Things I have tried:
  • Replugging all the cables to the motherboard
  • Reinserting the Graphics card and trying to use the intel integrated graphics with the graphics card detached completely.

I haven't reattached the CPU cooler. Can it be the thermal paste going places? I put very minimal amount as instructed in the tutorials.

Any ideas what it can be?

Solution
Double checked that the fan on the new cooler is connected to CPU_FAN on the mobo ?
With only the old RAM in place, do a clear CMOS before trying to boot again (do not forget to disconnect from the wall)
What have you done exactly ?
On the one way "after installing a new CPU cooler " and on the other way " haven't reattached the CPU cooler " ?
Anyway, take out the new RAM you inserted. Try with only the old sticks. These could be a problem to.

I have tried using the old ram only but it still gives the same issue. By not reinstalling the cpu cooler, I meant to say that the only thing I have done is taking out the previous cooler and installing the new one but it has been installed and haven’t been messed with. I haven’t tried to reinsert the cpu, which I didn’t detach in the first place so don’t see any reason there
