Hi guys, as per topic... its a gigabyte ga g41m.
Does not post when switched on, i have to press the reset button only then it begins to post.

At times, when i switch on the power button, the fan spins like crazy, i then use the reset button... then it posts.

Thank you.

System specs?
Go into the BIOS and select 'Load default configuration', save and reboot.

If that doesn't work, check your mobo battery and replace if necessary.

A CMOS reset may also help.

Finally your mobo may be shorting somewhere in the case - remove it from the case (I know it's a pain) and set it on a carton box. Connect the necessary and boot. If it works there until you plug all the equipment then it must be shorting somewhere when in your case.

It may be the front panel connectors themselves. Before doing what darkguset suggested - and I agree trying it out of the case would be a good idea - first double check they are connected correctly, and not in the wrong order, and if not, disconnect the front panel leads and try jumping the board https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuPZlliGqBw

Also, if your board has an internal speaker, you could check for diagnostic beeps.

Thank you so much for replying...

* i can't reset bios (its a hackintosh ! ...will end up in a mess )
* but i think it might be a shorting issue coz this happened after i had opened the case for some modifications....after putting back the covers, this happened !

* yeah its a pain alright :)
* guess this calls for a detailed look into the case..Thanks

Thank you,
