Motherboard does not recognize my memory properly

So, this is a quite old problem I'm having.

Specs:
MoBo: Asus Rampage II Extreme
CPU: i7 920
Memory: Corsair XMS3 (3x2Gb) 1600MHz
Source: Corsair TX650

My MoBo will not recognize my 3x2Gb DDR3 1600 RAM.
It used to work all the 6gb at some point, and 4gb after that....
Now the best I can get out of it is 2+2gb (not even dual channel, one is in A1 other in A2).

If I put A1 + B1, it will recognize only 2gb.
A1 + B1 + C1, it wont even try to boot the PC, no beeps, no anything.
If there is nothing on A1, it wont boot as well.

Tried to match the voltage 1.65V and the latency 9-9-9-24. No changes.
Updated the BIOS to the most recent version, no changes.

All the sticks are working. That's not the problem.

One problem that I am aware is the temperature of my PC.
Just playing with BIOS, CPU goes up to 77C.
My case is really bad in this aspect, no much ventilation.
I tried to clean the stock cooler I use, however with no compressed air it's hard to make sure it is good enough.

Does anyone have any ideas of what could be the problem?
Or my motherboard is most likely with dead slots at this point?

Solution
Memtest86+ is the gold standard for testing ram.
Does each stick pass a full cycle with NO errors?

I might suspect that your motherboard has failed in some way.
If you have reseated the cpu, look for damaged pins in the cpu socket.

Yes, your cpu is too hot at idle.
Likely it is because the cpu cooler is loose or needs new paste.
The stock pushpins can be hard to install.
All 4 pins must be through and locked.
The cooler should not wiggle if you nudge it.

Oh, that's unfortunate. I guess I`ll have to stick to 4gb for now.
Planning to build a new PC soon, so not worth to waste time/money with this.

Thanks for the help.

I haven`t tested the memories properly, to be honest.
What I mean was that I could use any of the memories in whatever position, all of them work on the first slot,f or example.
I should take a look on the processor. The cooler is not loose, but it has some dust on it.
I`ll check for the pins as well.

Thanks!

Best I could conclude was an aging problem on one of the motherboard components. Out gassing, temperature cycles, or something. I literally shelved the whole working system when I got an i7-4770k. About a year later I reassembled it for a friend's temporary machine and it showed 8/12GB working. All individual sticks worked in any slots. Not all pair combinations worked though. Tried increasing voltage, decreasing and running at 1333 and all kinds of things, just couldn't get it past a pair of sticks. Running at 1600 though.
