Im new to computer building and i have only bought my case, mobo and psu that is second hand. Plug it in correctly and only get around half a second of fan speed and then nothing. I put a pin between the black and green cables on the 24 power connector turned it on and it worked fine. But i am also questioning that my mobo isnt booting up as i can not hear any beeps like most other computers. Im not sure if its because neither my case, BitFenix Shadow, or my mobo, Asrock b85m-itx, have speakers on. I have tried with external speakers etc but nothing works.

Sorry if ive missed anything im new as i mentioned.

The majority of motherboards (MB) and cases don't come with a system speaker.

External speakers plugged into the ports on the back are different than the internal system speaker.

Basically, it's a tiny speaker that is plugged in to 2 small pins on the MB and is used for the beeps you mentioned not hearing.

Unfortunately, if something is second hand it might not work (brand new stuff doesn't work sometimes).
