I have the ASUS prime 270 plus motherboard and the Zalman Z9 neo case. I recently bought 2 Cooler Master MF140 A RGB fans and one Cooler Master MF120 A RGB (just the 120mm version) and can connect one of the fan cables from each fan into the seperate chassis fan headers which makes them go, but have no lighting at all, even when I install the software. There is another cable coming out of each fan which I think is the RGB but cant seem to find out where to connect it, or if I even can. I am new to this and need help. Thanks.

Solution
Recommend but the RGB LED controller from cooler master too, because you had the CM fans.
The controller http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cooling-rgb-accessories/rgb-led-controller/

Or return those fans, buy the kit: 3 in 1 kit http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Lines/case-fan/

Or other brand, something like:
1) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835099006&Description=RGB%20controller&cm_re=RGB_controller-_-35-099-006-_-Product
