I recently bought a new motherboard and CPU.

My setup right now is:
MBD: Asus Rog Strix Z790E WiFi
CPU: I9-14900K
GPU: RTX 3080
RAM: 64GB G.Skill DDR5 6400Mhz
PSU: Corsair 850w

My computer goes through the process of booting up and clears CPU and RAM and then goes to VGA.
Then it displays an error of D6 and all 3 lights of CPU, RAM and VGA come on.

And it sounds like my computer then starts wanting to take off like a rocket. I've tried reseating the RAM and GPU but I still can't get a display and not sure why all 3 lights come on?

I tried using the monitor port on my motherboard instead of the GPU port, but still no display.

use BIOS flashback to update the BIOS to the latest version
your CPU might not yet be compatible with the motherboard with the current installed BIOS
I have done that already and it was still showing that. After attempting to get it to start through the motherboard again, it displayed for a little bit and said my cpu pump was not working. After fixing it, now my board displays a error 00. And doesn't post like it did before at all.

eventually bent CPU socket pin or cooler tightened to much to the CPU/board
reseat CPU
untighten cpu cooler a bit

retry flashback, eventually it was not successfully done
reset bios by jumper

rma motherboard and or CPU

I went to replace the cpu as reseating it did not work and mobo still displays the 00 error. I had also noticed that before when the error code was d6, when I managed to get it to post and it told me that the cpu was overheating. I checked the contact frame of the cooler to the cpu and noticed it wasn't touching. After which the code 00 came next. I had done over an hour of testing at that point and the computer never auto shut off to prevent damage. I wonder if that's why the cpu died?

On another note, I have the new cpu. And I've been wondering if i need to plug in two pcie cpu into the motherboard. I currently only have one 8-pin plugged in for my board. But curious if i should get another that has two 8-pin connectors for the cpu since this is a 14900k?

usually not, but of course you can connect the 2nd EPS power
nowadays a cpu can´t be damaged by overheating if it's working correctly inside. It will prevent damage and shut down. If the frame is not correctly installed, be sure nothing is electically shorting on anything. More likely your motherboard is faulty if two cpus give the same error.
