I have 2 systems and just bought a 3570K. Before I decide where to install it, my 2 motherboards are MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) with i5 2500K, and MSI P67A-GD53 (B3). My Z68 is GEN3 with support for PCI 3.0. Would I benefit from Ivy or will these 2 CPUs perform the same regardless of which board they're on?

Just to clarify, I am not upgrading my CPU "just because" I needed a second CPU anyways and I have an HD 7950. The price of the 3570K was cheaper than buying a second 2500K and I can't justify spending more for a CPU that's a generation older. Since I have the option between the 2 CPU's on my main rig, I just want to know if it's worth switching.

It should work if done correctly (BIOS upgarde) but I don't see it being worth the time and effort .... you won't be able to take advantage of any Z77 features and while IB is slightly faster clock for clock, that advantage is offset by the 2500k's superior overclockability.
