Hello, recently my motherboard died due to my GPU short circuiting it. TBH im not sure if its completely dead, I had a ASUS P8Z77-V LX, and I had a gtx 660TI, so one day i turned my computer on and the resolution was all messed, when I tried to download drivers for it i got the code 43 error. I even tried a completely different computer and the same happened. so after a while i took it out of my PC and then tried to plug a hdmi directly into my motherboard, which would previously work, but this time it did not. my cpu fan and other case fans would all work, my mouse and keyboard would light up, but my monitor would not detect anything. I have even tried a different monitor using the dvi port and still no picture.

So I believe my mother board has died. Does anyone know of any good motherboards for my i7 3770k processors, socket type LGA 1155, don't mind if its second hand, need a quick cheap replacement as ultimately going to get a new PC

I might aswell kill 2 bird with 1 stone and ask if any of you have a suggestion for any good gpu for that setup aswell please let me know.

Thank You

Pull the GPU out of the computer and try resetting the CMOS, most likely with the GPU installed it turned the motherboard GPU off to use the discrete card.

On a side note normally i would recommend buying the same motherboard to get away from having to reinstall the OS, have driver issues, or reactivate windows but i could only find that board used for $120 to 160. You might be better off doing a new Ryzen gen 2 build as the prices have come down on the older gen cpus.

I have already reset the cmos, a number of times, still no luck

Have you tried clearing cmos before using onboard?
Because rarely GPU kills motherboard if not even at all.
Yep I have reset the cmos many times and it still does not post, but the fans turn on and my mouse and keyboard turn on, I also disconnect all the components execpt from 1 4gb ram stick and the cpu cooler

If you're still looking for a motherboard, try Ebay. I bought an ASUS Z77-A motherboard there a couple of months ago and it works great with my i5-3570K. The one I bought was new and I paid about $150 for it. If you don't want to spend that much, they have "Used" Z77 motherboards as well.

BTW, the Intel B75, H77, and Q77 chipset motherboards, as well as others are compatible with your i7-3770k. Do a Google search to determine the differences between the different chipsets.
