Motherboard for FX-6300

So I ordered Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 for my FX-6300 processor, is it right choice? I will use R9 290 or GTX 760 on it. I don't need to use Crossfire/SLI. Will this work fine? Thats the one i got, OC my FX6300 with no problems! Just make sure you get the latest Bios update and you are good to go!

can i update the bios with a fx6300 processor ? or do i even dont need an processor to update?
