Motherboard for i5 turbocharging

Hello,
In order to utilize the "Turbocharging" feature of, for example a i5 2500k, does the motherboard need to specify that it supports that feature. I noticed this when looking at the ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 on newegg, whereas other do not say this, thanks in advance!

Turbo charge as in charge your devices faster? Or turbo boost?

Sorry, yes the Turbo boost thats featured on the i-cores, been a long day

Turbo boost is part of the processor, not the motherboard.

I understand that, but does the motherboard itself have to support the use of TurboBoost, I guess more specifically turboboost 2.0, as it shows on the ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 on newegg under details, Supported CPU

No, that is part of the processor. All socket 1155 boards should support turbo boost. Honestly it doesn't really matter though.

Awesome, was just trying to figure out what the 'Turbo Boost Technology 2.0' support was about, hadnt really seen that advertised on other boards, just didnt want to miss out on anything lol. This is just my 2nd build im working on and alot has changed, thank you for your time and anwser!

turbo 2.0 takes better account of thermals for how long it holds the higher speed for. turbo 1.0 was on the previous gen i5-560 etc. that was a smaller boost for less time i think.

some mobos do allow you to change the duration based your view of the thermal goodness of your setup, but OC is so easy, that if you've got a -k series you'd may as well just boost the processor to that turbo'd level or beyond.

Makes sense, I wondered why people wouldnt just do that in the first place (OC to advertised boost speed), lest it be for warranty reasons. Seems that clocking around 4 is hardly a strain though for any of the i-cores. Thanks for the input!
