Tried my best to make an affordable, and quiet, $800 PC build for music production, I feel like I did a pretty good job researching each part! Or so I tell myself so all those hours on forums meant something...

What I am iffy on is...

How to choose my motherboard, I'm not really sure how to go about it for audio production, or to match my CPU, I just took one off a budget gamer's build

What I'm sure of...

I want an i7700k even though I'm not going to overclock it anytime soon, the price difference is 10 dollars only for the 7700 and the base speed is higher
I will buy an external sound interface so I'm not thinking of any sound cards

Any comments on the value of other parts and compatibility issues I might encounter are very much appreciated! Making it cheaper would also be a delight.

Couple of things....
1. Do not spend $816 on a pc solely for music production, unless you just really want too
2. You have a micro atx mobo selected yet you have an atx tower.(I have this exact tower btw, its amazing)
3. If I were you, i'd ditch the ssd+hdd, grab a 128 or 250gb samsung 850 evo for the os, then buy a big capacity external drive for storing and transporting your music.

All in all, you'll have damn good, top tier gaming rig that only needs a decent gpu to run anything out and upcoming with ease. Since you only need it for music production, it's essentially a future proofed rig.
